Countdown to Back to School

Countdown to Back to School

We're at that point in Summer where every email subject reminds you that you need to start thinking about Back-To-School week. (There's been a few REALLY ambitious ones that are making us mildly freaking out about Halloween already. *eye roll* )

My daughter, Avery, is entering Kindergarten this Fall and for the first time ever, I have to think about how to get her to school by 8:15 AM. Who will watch Ryan? Should I take him with me? How do I get 2 kids ready by 7:50 AM when we've been living in an 8 AM breakfast time reality for the past almost 5 years?!

Obviously, I'm neither a morning person nor a person who is good at handling change! Mentally running through different AM scenarios has me thinking about what I can to do in the mornings to avoid dropping off Avery in my pajamas.

Below are my top picks for looking good even when you need to get yourself out the door in a time crunch.

Enjoy the remainder of your Summer~

1./ The Cold Shoulder Dress Cold Shoulder Dress

The Cold Shoulder Dress has been my top go-to outfit lately, since the temperature's been in the 70's here in NYC. Its made with the same fabric as The Tee Dress, so although it has a casual silhouette, the heavier Yarn-Dyed Jersey makes it look luxe and constructed. The shoulder and double pocket details add a bit of style that helps me look as if I actually have time to get ready in the mornings. Plus, the pockets come in handy for Ryan's "DROOLY TOWELS."

2./ The Elbow Sleeve Fitted Dress

The Elbow Sleeve Fitted Dress in Red/Navy Stripes or Black makes me feel ready to change gears when I have to go straight from playing with the kids to meeting someone for work. I have dressed this style down with leggings and then taken them off at coffee shop bathrooms for a quick outfit transformation. I definitely see this piece in even heavier rotation for Fall layering!

3./ The Tee Dress

The Tee Dress is the dress that started it all! After 4 years, it is still a staple in my own closet and I wear this dress year-round. The fabric stands up to frequent laundering and the little tail detail always makes me feel more comfortable since it hides panty lines and looks more updated and fashionable than just a long tee shirt.

4./ The Cold Shoulder Top

The Cold Shoulder Top

I'm fully on board with the MOM JEANS trend and  The Cold Shoulder Top is an effortless style that I pair with my jeans and a belt for a pulled-together casual look. I match a couple of bangles to the hardware of my belt and suddenly it really is an Insta-Outfit with that "oh, I just threw this together" but I seem like I could be strolling around Venice with a straw fedora look.

Whatever you choose to wear, here's to you, mama, and to savoring the end of Summer with your family!
